The portrait is only as good as the photo it starts from. Five tips that make a visible difference:
1. Eye level, not from above
Crouch down so the camera is level with your pet's eyes. Photos taken from standing height make heads look big and bodies tiny.
2. Daylight beats flash
Shoot near a window or outdoors in the shade. Avoid flash (red eyes) and harsh midday sun (hard shadows).
3. Sharp and close
Fill the frame with your pet's head and shoulders. If the eyes look crisp when you zoom in, we're good.
4. No filters, no sunglasses
Send the original file, not a screenshot or an edited version. We need to see the real fur colour and the eyes.
5. Two pets? Two photos are fine
For a two-pet portrait, send one clear photo of each. Our artists compose them together.
